The GA Industries Model E5001R Surge Sentinel Electronically Controlled Surge Anticipator Valve combines the PLC technology with the rugged and dependable V-port differential piston main valve to provide the ultimate in surge protection.
The Surge Sentinel Model R control panel senses pump or power failure and immediately opens the main valve in anticipation of the high-pressure surge that follows such events.The returning surge is harmlessly discharged to atmosphere through the fully open valve, after which the valve slowly closes.
The Model E5001R does not depend on unreliable hydraulic pilots to open and close the valve during the surge anticipation sequence. The surge anticipation function is totally controlled by the Surge Sentinel electronic control panel and can be customized to suit a particular application through the selection of operating modes and timer settings via the touchscreen display. To ensure the valve will operate when needed, the Model R Surge Sentinel facilitates easy and routine testing of the surge anticipation function without affecting any of the settings.
The Model E5001R Surge Sentinel anticipator valve also functions as a surge relief valve and will open anytime the pressure exceeds the setting of the overpressure relief pilot.
