GA Industries Figure 517RF-US are rectangular port, non-lubricated, rubber-seated eccentric plug valves with a port area equivalent to at least 100% of the inside area of the adjacent pipe. The valves fully meet the requirements of AWWA Standard C517 and are AIS Compliant. The valves are typically used for isolation service in sewage and wastewater pumping stations, treatment plants and forcemains. The valve's 100% port area affords lower headloss than the same size standard port plug valve.
The valve has a rugged cast iron body with a weld overlaid body seat of tough and corrosion resistant nickel.A Buna-N rubber coating is transfer molded and vulcanized to the ductile iron plug. The plug is supported by upper and lower PTFE coated 316 stainless steel bearings that ride in 316 stainless steel bushings in the body and cover.
The valve can be manually operated by a quarter turn worm gear actuator for exposed or buried service.Electric motor, pneumatic or hydraulic actuators can be supplied for automatic operation.Actuators are sized and selected for the operating conditions, factory mounted on the valve and tested as an assembly.
